Chetek Chain

Is anyone catching fish on the Chetek Chain?? I was there today and found the fishing really tough. Water temps in the high 40's to low 50's. Seems the fish are in a very pre-spawn mode. I didn't see any fish shallow. Man, this weather has to warm up soon!!

Ken I was out Saturday the 13th and posted a report on www.futurebass.com go to Wiscon Lakes and then Chetek Chain. I found a few bucks shallow but all the females 8 to 16 feet deep.

I was out last night with my daughter and I couldn't believe the number of bass boats out there. Must be more than one tournament coming up. I fisheda few shallow spots and caught a few shorts then moved flipping willows and caught 6 or 7 that bumped but nothing big, may 16.5" being the biggest. Moved shallow again, I can't say where but I will say there is a slop bite in Moose Ear hint, hint. Drifted across the flat of the new emergement weed growth and nailed them pretty good. If you pull in there and just watch for a while you can see the fish breaking.

Greg,

Thanks for the info. Wouldn't you know it the one lake I didn't fish was Moose Ear. We did fish the mouth but nothing else.

Pat Havenor and I will be fishing Elwood's tournament there on Saturday. Maybe with the warm up things will finally let loose.

Maybe we'll see ya out there...
