Wis River - Wis Rapids

We had a good day of fishing.  All we caught were smallies, and didn't encounter any toothy critters Brovarney so I still have all my jigs. LOL

Most of the fish we caught were current relating with few on any of the side channels around the numerous islands,  Spinner baits and Brovarney swim jigs seemed to be the baits preferred today in 6' or less.  While I managed to catch a number of fish in the 2# class there were no big ones for me today, but the wife hooked into a 5# class smallie but lost it when it went arial.

This section of the Wis River is definitely one to be careful in.  This section of the river is only about 2 miles long between dams, with all of the action today north of the first bridge when heading upstream from the only landing at the county park.  If you choose to fish this section be careful, it is a lower unit repair waiting to happen.

That is correct Dan I kept it stored in the compartment where it should be.  Yep, I try and learn from my mistakes and I found out that somewhere between 45-50mph that jig boxes fly without wings!!!
