Presidents Message
Andy Cleveland
I would like to start off by saying thank you to all the previous and current members of the State Federation for making our Federation as good as it is today. And a special thank you to the past and current members of the State Board for all your hard work, sacrifice and help you have given us.
For those of you who do not know who I am, here is a little background on myself. I live in Appleton and am the president of Green Bay Bassmasters. Since I joined the Federation about two years ago, the Federation has made a huge impact on my wife and I’s life. We have met some fantastic people, had opportunities presented to us and our quality of time on the water went way up. As you all know, things go a lot easier when your catching fish!!!! When I saw a chance to give back to a Federation that has given me so much, I did not waste much time in running for the President’s position. I am very passionate about fishing and the Federation and I look forward to making my contribution.
We have an exciting year coming up! The Mr. Bass tournament at Castle Rock to determine the twelfth person on the 2011 State Team, the State Tournament up in Sturgeon Bay, the Jr. State tournament and the Northern Divisional back in Escanaba. Last year there was a lot of positive feedback on the Four Man Classic that was held on Shawano Lake from everyone who participated. We look forward to making this year’s Four Man Classic up in Chetek even better!
We have some new faces on the State Board this year including myself. Eric Van Hout has stepped into some pretty big shoes left from Tom Ehrenberg at the Secretaries position. Scott Siller and myself also have some big shoes to fill from Terry Hilbert at Tournament Director and Jeff Dyer as President. I am very impressed with all the members of the board past and present for getting us new members up to speed as quickly as you have and your willingness to help out.
While we have a great group of people on the board, don’t forget to let your opinions and thoughts be heard by using the tools available to you. Please visit the forum on a regular basis, email or call one of the board members or attend one of the reps meetings. The more feedback we get from our members, the better the Federation will be.
Have a great and safe 2010 fishing season!!
Sincerely,
Andy Cleveland
