So it's finally here!

How was everyone's weekend opener's?

I spent the weekend with the Amery Bass Anglers Club. They gave up their opening weekend to be guides on Lake Wapogasset, taking around Governor Doyle, DNR Secretary - Matt Frank, DNR Fisheries Manager Mike Staggs and many other Wisconsin Politicians and Media at the 43rd Annual Governor's Fishing Opener.

Want to thank State Rep. Ann Hraychuck and her husband Dave who organized this weekend and to Deb Sterchy Executive Manager of Wisconsin Indian Head Country Tourism Bureau for including the WBFN and a SPECIAL thanks to the following Amery Bass Anglers who hung out with Todd Bina and me this weekend.

They are:
George Sigsworth, Mark Robarge, Scott Iverson, Dave Flatten, Bill Niles, Linn Case, James Sigsworth, JeremySigsworth and Scott Sigsworth.

They did a great job representing themselves as well as the WBFN. Of coarse I just figured out your real names since all we learned up there were the nicknames. Which WE WILL leave out of this post!
Shhh

Thanks Guys!

This event is something the WBFN has been asked to be part of in the future and I think it is a great opportunity to promote the WBFN.

I also heard a rumor that Mr. Brovarney got lucky and actually caught a fish or two in his clubs opener.

I saw a picture of the now famous George Sigsworth in the Watertown local paper. George, Ann, and Jim Doyle were in the picture. I noted that the Governor's holding of the fishing rod shows he doesn't hold one often but Ann on the other hand looked like a pro.

Maybe I should cut the picture out and get George's autograph on it!!!!

Yes, that Ann Wraychuck can fish well and enjoys doing it. I did have a chance to talk a little shop with the Governor about tournament fishing. He seemed to be understanding of our side of things and willing to listen anyway. The cold temps and the 65 mph to the North end may have distorted his thinking though. We could have went faster but he was starting to coil up in the passenger seat and I didnt want his handlers to start firing at me to slow me down.
It was a fun weekend and a boost for the BASS Federation Nation.
