Did a little research in light of what has transpired in Illinois regarding High School bass fishing. Here is what I found out.

Any WIAA-sponsored tournament series leading to state championship
status
will be considered by the Board of Control at such a time as 51 schools
(10%
of the membership) participate in the sport at the same time of year
and
indicate an interest in recognition by the WIAA. To date, we have had
no
inquiries from member schools about bass fishing.

If you guys want to see a group of excited fisherman start a junior club. We have 18 members ( from 4 different school districts) as of today and have not even had a tournament yet. The kids have raised over $1600 dollars in a month and a half with no fundraisers. If you think people will not get behind a group of young anglers think again. If we get enough junior members from enough schools then there may be an option to explore a new state tournament. That would be a huge boost in the arm for tournament anglers in light of recent events.
